New MR Type vessel "ONOMICHI MARK III"
(D/W 50,000MT PRODUCT TANKER)
New MR Type vessel "ONOMICHI MARK IV"
(D/W 50,000MT CHEMICAL / PRODUCT TANKER)
New MR Type vessel "ONOMICHI MARK V"
(D/W 49,500MT CHEMICAL / PRODUCT TANKER) |
Newly developed MR (Medium Range D/W 40,000 to 53,000MT class) has been completed its planning, complies with IMO as well as MARPOL amendment (application of a special fuel tank which prevents the fuel oil outflow from the vessel in case of collision or stranding) and is already in process of receiving orders. The new MR type vessel is named "ONOMICHI MARK III", "ONOMICHI MARK IV" and "ONOMICHI MARK V" as the third, fourth and fifth generation of our MR-type vessel.
Mainly, ONOMICHI MARK III carries refined oil products having cargo pumps in the pump room. ONOMICHI MARK IV is structuring corrugated bulkhead having independent cargo pumps in each cargo tank and capable to carry some various cargoes and IMO Type II and III Chemical Cargoes.
Furthermore, in addition to the specification of ONOMICHI MARK IV, ONOMICHI MARK V is capable of loading 16 different kinds of cargo oil simultaneously.

This ONOMICHI MARK III, ONOMICHI MARK IV and ONOMICHI MARK V, from the beginning of the development, was designed with four concepts based on the designing and building know-how acquired for the total of 75 MR ships built in the past. In addition, the rich experience in building of MR's are fully applied, and the suggestions and requests prorided from the ship owners are adopted in the specifications of those new vessels to meet the needs of the time.

| Four Concepts for Development of ONOMICHI MARK III, ONOMICHI MARK IV and ONOMICHI MARK V |
|
| |
 |
| |
The ONOMICHI MARK IV/V has efficiently centralized its operation system.
For example, the navigation instruments has been strategically arranged to enable the officers on duty to instantly monitor all the information necessary for maneuvering the ship. |
| |
|
|
 |
| |
The ONOMICHI MARK IV/V has a well arranged passageway for safe and easy access to tanks, valves, equipments and any other handling stations making work efficient and safe. |
| |
|
|
 |
| |
The ONOMICHI MARK IV/V has features to reduce maintenance costs.
Such features are the C.O.T. coating using the NACOUS system, the hull structure developed by using the Finite Element Fine Mesh analysis, the adoption of SUS materials in various locations to prevent rust and the A-type strong fore mast. |
| |
|
|
 |
| |
The ONOMICHI MARK IV/V has the Onomichi Straight Bow (OSB) and the Onomichi Parallel Fin (OPF).
The OSB has a sharp waterline entrance angle which reduces resistance of waves, and the OPF improves stern flow and controls the inflow of the propeller.
As a result, it reduces fuel consumption in waves. |
