The new factory in Mukaishima, which equipped with advanced machinery and methods to assemble hull blocks, started operation in July, 2008.

The factory has 5,500 square meters fabrication shop, 7,700 square meters assembly shop and 2,000 square meters painting shop on the totally 38,000 square meters ground. It also includes each unloading pier for steels and blocks respectively, a 300 ton capacity jib crane and a 250 ton capacity transporter.
The factory features the newest automatic production facilities constitute of a NC cutting machine, an automatic tack welding machine for longitudinal beam, an automatic 20 electrodes welding machine, a straightening machine, a RF one side welding equipment, as well as six crab cranes and four hoist cranes. The “assembly-line system” is maximized in order to adopt the conveyer systemized pre-fabrication line and the carrier systemized block assembles line.

The new factory is optimally located opposite sea side to the main shipbuilding factory, approximately 500 meters away. However it is near from residential area, all possible measures for effective environment-friendly, such as various noise reduction technologies and prevention of air pollution, have been applied.

Factory output is 2,000 tons hull blocks per month presently, but it will be maximized considering its possibility. Also it enable us manufacture cost to be minimized, increasing the block ratio of intra-product and stabilize the construction schedule for the shipbuilding. Moreover, the “just-in-time” transportation method by using the barge, has been systemized, it can be directly loading blocks to the building berth, which is locating opposite sea side of the new factory.
